I have a USB stick that was formatted with FAT32. It worked fine but all of a sudden I receive only the error "Device driver software was not successfully installed" whenever I plug it in a USB port. I tried other sticks (fat and ntfs) and all of them installed correctly.

What could be causing this?

It's probably not the file system but the drive itself. Try it on another computer. – user3463 May 20 '12 at 1:16

Do all the devices have same response or only this drive? – avirk May 20 '12 at 2:12

Can you test the drive with another computer? Do you experience the same issue? – evan.bovie May 20 '12 at 3:34

@avirk Only this drive. – Alexander Ceed May 20 '12 at 9:21
