I am thinking of buying a router (this one) that allows me to plug in an external hard drive and share it on the home network. The external drive contains videos, music, photos, etc...

My primary way of consuming media up to now has been the PS3. I hung the external drive of a PC and shared it via a DLNA server (PS3 Media Server). This has worked well, except the PC has to be on at all times.

So I want to replace the current setup with this router. The documentation states that it supports sharing data via UPnP. There is some disagreement on whether UPnP and DLNA devices can interoperate. And I can't seem to figure out whether PS3 supports UPnP.

My question is this: if I hang the external drive of the router, will my PS3 be able to consume the content?
