I have a desktop and a laptop in my bedroom, both running Windows 7 64-bit. I want to be able to listen to the sound coming from my desktop through ear phones on my laptop.

The main reason for this is because I use an HD TV as a second monitor to play PC games (my laptop isn't powerful enough to play them) and I like playing at night.

What I'm trying to avoid:

  1. I don't want to wake up my girlfriend (and roommates) by leaving the sound on.
  2. I don't want to sit ridiculously close to the TV/desktop to use my ear phones (I play while lying in bed).
  3. I don't want to play my games on mute.

I know that there are wireless headsets I can buy to accomplish this but it would be ideal to use what I already have. Any ideas?

If it matters, I'm using Mouse Without Borders to control the desktop from the laptop.
