I burned JPEG & TIFF files on December 2011 on a CD. I made sure that after burning the files were okay.

But when I opened the CD on May 2012, the TIFF files were corrupted. I can open the files but they have many weird lines on them. However, the JPEG files were clean and okay.

Any idea why this would happen?

Data can get corrupted. For a more useful answer, we'll need more details: what OS, what burning software, how do you know JPEGs OK (do you have originals, can you checksum compare them) – ckhan May 25 '12 at 6:32

Was it all the TIFF files that were corrupt? Was it no JPEG files? Did you try looking at them in several different programs? – Daniel Andersson May 25 '12 at 7:57
