Is it possible to save offline copies of your mail on outlook 2007 running an exchange platform. I am not talking about creating a seperate folder and copying mail to it. With Thunderbird running IMAP I was able to "Save mail for offline use". The mail would be saved locally to files that are synced with the IMAP server. I want to achieve similar functionality.

I don't know if you know that the *.ost is the offline *.pst file for E-Mails in an Exchange environment. Otherwise there is an archive feature, and an export feature in Outlook 2007. Maybe that's simple!? :) – JohannesM May 29 '12 at 18:44
The .ost file extension that Outlook uses is essentially an offline version of your mailbox. – jmreicha May 30 '12 at 20:44
