I am using a dell xp702x laptop running windows 7 home. I have disconnected from wireless network ie the internet and it still occurs. I have changed the port for the usb and the mouse and still occurs even using the built in touchpad mouse. i had avg virus checker and zone alarm firewall but changed to avira and also installed a free antispyware checker. These are both up to date and have run them several times to no avail. I am booted in safe mode just now with networking to allow me to write this text at the moment. The mouse performs normally in safe mode. My knowledge is limited, so extracting driver logs etc is beyond me. Any ideas would be welcome.

Download and (re)install the latest mouse drivers for your computer from Report back afterward. – iglvzx May 31 '12 at 5:12
Is this happening with a USB mouse plugged in? – ck. May 31 '12 at 6:36
Can you confirm your mouse is working and "clean" (no hairs in sensor, etc) ? – bdecaf May 31 '12 at 7:14
Maybe it's a Brownian mouse? ;-) – Keith May 31 '12 at 8:36
Any mouse simulation/click automation software used recently? e.g. Autohotkey – tumchaaditya May 31 '12 at 8:41
