I have just bought 2 CCTV cameras . One with resolution of 480TV lines and other with 600TV lines.

But they both look same to me.

I want to confirm whether they are actually 600 lines or shopkeeper just fooled me.

Is there any definite way to confirm this?

You need to obtain an SMPTE resolution chart to test each camera: journal.smpte.org/content/89/2/97.abstract – sawdust Jun 7 '12 at 21:50

I would take 2 sample videos and analyze the resolution they are encoded in. To give precise help, you need to give more details about your setup: OS, sofware you use to admin the cameras, file-format output (raw, mpeg4 or else?)
