Where can I get the Windows XP drivers for a Compaq Presario V2000? I just formatted the laptop. I can't find them on the official site.

The drivers are on the HP site. See http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html, which is linked from the http://www.hp.com/ home page. I selected "Drivers & Software" and typed "compaq presario v2000" into the search box. You need to select your laptop's exact model number and that you are running Windows XP. Then you need to individually download each driver listed for your model and operating system.

For example, item 4 on the service tag below ("dv9095xx") is the model number. The model number of your laptop will, of course, be different.

how to know whether it's V2000T or V2000Z. my lap service tag shows only V2000 –  Bramenath Jun 19 '12 at 6:56

@Bramenath: It might not actually be either one but rather a V2001AP, a V2010US, or another model. "Compaq Presario V2000" is what HP calls the "Product Name". The service tag on the bottom of the laptop should give the exact model ("Model Number"). –  PleaseStand Jun 19 '12 at 7:05
