I have installed fedora 11 on Oracle virtual box. When I press Alt+Tab in terminal the terminal hangs for indefinite time. Mouse cursor is active but system is not responding.

Can anybody tell me why this happens how to stop this...?

It also hangs when I try to install some apps through terminal.

If it is a new installation why are you using Fedora 11 It is end of life since 2010-06-25? Fedora 17 was released recently, the supported releases are now 15, 16 and 17. You will have a hard time getting support for this release I'm afraid. – Bram Jun 26 '12 at 18:39
