Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm looking for an IRC client that will replace my need for two separate clients: Jabber/XMPP, and IRC. I really dig how I can switch chat context from window to window on the command-line using a text IRC client like epic, irssi, bitchx, etc. However, the only way that I've gotten an IRC client to play nice with XMPP is with bitlbee, and that's an interface I really don't like.

So, I'm wondering if someone else can suggest a better IRC Client + Plugin that would replace my WeeChat IRC + Pidgin Setup on Linux Mint Debian Edition.
