How to scan file through Symantec software through command line and read the file scanning status?

I have tried with command like DoScan.exe /cmdlinescan /ScanFile "C:\Test.dat". It executed but no result. I have checked in symantec logs with todays folder and it is not listing the scanned file status. Test.dat is not virus file and i used this for testing only.
