I have an external hard drive. I came in from work yesterday and I could open a lot of my files, but not all of them.

Now this morning I tried to open my hard drive and it says I don't havem permission or access.

I have no idea what's going on, and I'm not technically minded.

What is your operating system ? What is the disk file system/partitioning ? – ziu Jul 15 '12 at 9:29
On windows you can always change files permissions if your account has administrator previleges. – Jul 15 '12 at 19:09
