1.83 GHz Intel Core CPU, 2 GB RAM, Mac OS X.

Battery is 9 months old and showing 95% power; however the machine shuts down sometimes 2 seconds after booting up and sometimes 5 mins; When i take the battery out and just run off ac mains the computer stays on all day/night if need be.

Any hints?

This section of log does not seem relevant. Your battery could be short circuiting or its controlling circuitrary may have been damaged. Or it could be the power manager chip in your laptop. You'd better bring it to an Apple Store and let a "genius" have a look at it. –  billc.cn Jul 31 '12 at 20:04
    
Apple store 2 hrs away; is there a program i can get to determine if i have a problem with the chip or circuitry???? –  paul davies Aug 3 '12 at 20:35
