I am trying to reduce my usage of Facebook, so I would like to temporarily prevent any page starting with facebook.com from being auto-completed in the address bar. I deleted all Facebook pages from my history, but when I visit the site, they will start appearing in auto-correct again. Is there a permanent solution?

Firefox may suggest from sites that you've bookmarked as well, depending on the choice you made in the scroll list seen in the image below. Just change it to "Nothing", and you will not get any suggestions at all. Edit: This suggestion will disable ALL autocompletes for the location bar usage though.

You should be able to achieve your goal by installing the Form History Control extension for Firefox. |

Deleting history won't delete entry data. History is just a list of URL's visited. If you don't want things to automatically pop up that you've entered, then clear your cache and cookies as well as your history. I suggest a program called ccleaner it works well at keeping your browser information clean. Which in turn helps keep your computer safe. (Just don't choose to delete something with CCleaner if you don't know what it does. research first) |

You should just go open your hosts file and route facebook.com to your localhost (127.0.0.1) or to google.com or something.
Then just open command line and run Now you can't go to facebook :) UPDATE If you want to just reduce usage and not block it, try an add-on such as LeechBlock. |
