Is their any software available for linux that will allow me to plug a usb cable in my linux box and plug the other end into a windows box (mac, my tv, etc...) and have my linux box act as a flash drive?

Please rephrase your question to ask for information about what kind of technology would be involved in this kind of activity, rather than just asking for a product recommendation. Product recommendations are off topic on SuperUser. It would be better for you and for everyone who reads this question later if answers to this question describe the kind of technology that would enable this activity, rather than simply providing a link to a product that does what you want. That product could be obsolete or out of business at any time and would then be useless to the community. – somequixotic Aug 6 '12 at 21:14

There is no simple USB male-A to male-A cable to connect two PCs. Each USB port on the PC is a host or master port. Connecting two master ports to each other does not work. There are devices with cables that allow a PC-to-PC connection by USB. – sawdust Aug 6 '12 at 21:19
