I had previously linked the gmail account to outlook. Later, since my hard disk failed, I again tried to link gmail account to outlook. It was successful but only those mails from my gmail which I had received since last sync with outlook were synchronized. Is there possibilities for synchronizing all the mails right from the beginning?

Do you use IMAP or POP? – wullxz Aug 9 '12 at 11:16
Adjust your accounts settings to include all of your emails. Read the Google's support article on the subject. – Ramhound Aug 9 '12 at 11:35
@Ramhound: How does this affect Outlook? Could you post that as an answer? – Tom Wijsman Aug 9 '12 at 17:53
