I was using LVM on an arch install disk and typed pvcreate /dev/sda2 but that was where my Windows installation was located.

Did it overwrite the whole disk? If not, how can I revert it back to a working version?

Note: I don't have a recent backup of a working filesystem so that's not an option.

EDIT: I just recently backed up the broken partition so that if I mess with it I can try again.

You have no backup, but you have a backup of the partition? Please clarify that statement :) – Oliver Salzburg Aug 15 '12 at 13:51
