What tools do you normally carry with you on your usb stick ?

Like your favourite text editor, which you've got accustomed to; windows explorer replacement, maybe your personal wiki ? What else ?

it's pretty fast. I'm using Sandisk Cruzer Contour that has very good performance. – Bo Tian Jul 23 '09 at 1:00

Check out the question on serverfault.com I think someone with enough rep can move the topic here, might be more appropriate for this site. Good tools that fit on a thumb drive

Yes, I know of that question. I believe there is one on SF as well. This is one of these analogue questions, that appear on every site of SO trilogy. One for programmers, one for sysadmins and one for powerusers (tools differ). – ldigas Jul 16 '09 at 5:59

I carry a USB drive that's a bootable Hiren's BootCD. I can stick in the USB drive and boot to it. It has a number of great tools. I also keep a copy of Victoria, which is a low-level hard drive scanner.

The Hiren CD appears to be very illegal. – wcoenen Aug 2 '09 at 20:46
Newer versions of Hiren's appear to be somewhat more legal. Version 15 contains the same two commercial packages, as clearly labeled on the web site. – Daniel Beck Nov 7 '11 at 20:03

A customized Ultimate Boot CD with my own registered copy of SpinRite and an additional PuppyLinux installation with some space to save files. I put this in a SanDisk 1GB SD+USB card, which I carry on the wallet
