I have tried all the suggestions to get the index started, but none work for me, in desperation, I have even done a Repair Re-Install, even that hasn't done the trick.

When I search, I get the yellow line saying the Index is not running, I click to start, the window for Start Index appears, click OK, but it does nothing. From Control Panel, Index Options, it says Index Not Running, and the options are not available, troubleshooter just says Windows search service not running Not Fixed.

I have 120,000 audio files and my main use is searching for individual files, so I really need this to work. The files are on an external 2Tb drive with no issues.
