Firewall issue perhaps? – Mark Kram Sep 4 '12 at 15:54
What virtualization platform are you using? What is the exact network type you're using for connecting the hosts? – Ansgar Wiechers Sep 4 '12 at 16:01
Are all three systems (laptop, XP VM, W2k8 VM) on the internet? What are their IP addresses? – ckhan Sep 4 '12 at 17:02
Don't give the IP addresses. Just make up some. – cutrightjm Sep 4 '12 at 17:04
