How can I record a translation; that is, dictate the translation into a microphone and then transcribe it (type it into text) without using a foot-pedal? I have XP and Vista, prefer XP.

Do you already have software to do this? Are you asking about which software to use? In general, you can use a keyboard keypress instead of a foot pedal in a PTT (Push to talk) manner. – JoshP Sep 7 '12 at 13:22
Did you try Naturally Speaking – Dave Oct 2 '12 at 10:27
