Do people still use ICQ? – random Sep 27 '09 at 14:00
a lot of people use ICQ, why not? btw gtalk lets you add aim and aim can act as bridge for ICQ, so you can have ICQ just by opening up a browser and login in to gtalk or icq has their own web version as well. otherwise i suggest pidgin – alexus Sep 27 '09 at 17:45

I use TokBox which is free to use and also lets me talk to people on MSN Messenger and gmail.

It has its own video system (rather than sending video back to be compatible with MSN Messenger etc), but that's ok because it will invite your friend into a TokBox session for video and audio.

TokBox is compatible with Windows and Linux.
