Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

We're trying to move Users' Redirected Documents data from C: to D: using the wizard in the SBS console. It keeps crashing though as soon you hit next for the fist time in the wizard.

This server has 2x basic NTFS partitions on one RAID5 array, and an external HDD appropriated by Backup Exec (no drive letter mapping, NTFS)

The line in the logfile that's caught my eye (line 48 - [8884] 120917.172036.6765:) reads:

Storage: An error occured during the execution: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.OverflowException: Value was either too large or too small for a UInt32.

Currently there is only one user set up for folder redirection and there are no files in their redirected folder, however I have never had this problem on a brand new server which would also (obviously) have no files. I have also tried shoving in a 140KB text file and get the same error - the only difference being the value on lines 35/36 ([13108] 120917.172031.6870:) increase.

I haven't tried removing the USB HDD as this server is offsite and we've never had problems with Backup Exec disks preventing this wizard from running. The server has .Net framework 3.5 SP1 (3.5.30729.01) – Miles Hayler Sep 20 '12 at 13:41
There are no IIS config changes or powershell apps. All the group policy, locations, etc are as per SBS standard setup – Miles Hayler Sep 20 '12 at 13:42
no other part of SBS console causing us any problems, everything is running as it should. – Miles Hayler Sep 20 '12 at 13:43
The wizard doesn't go far enough to specify the destination drive, which in this case is the D: drive partition on the RAID array, sized at approx 385GB with 205GB free space. The C: drive is only 80GB total size. A USB drive is connected for Backup Exec and has no drive letter mapping. It is 240GB. – Miles Hayler Sep 20 '12 at 13:44
