Is there a software similar to Electronics Workbench? Where i can design a network using any topology that I choose such as using any wire and have the ability to connect computers to routers, switches, patch panels, etc.? It would be a networking simulation of some kind.

it would have to be something in real time where i can press play and it will tell me if current is flowing or not –  Exploit Sep 19 '12 at 6:29

pretty much all networks are a star topology so if current isn't flowing it'd only be a single break down the line. the wires are pretty much invisible from the design point of view. And when i've setup networks I try to match my switch ports to patch pannel ports so there's no hunting later and less modeling. –  Robert Sep 19 '12 at 6:35

thanks but imagine if a software like this did exist, it would be fun to try anything and everything without spending a dime lol –  Exploit Sep 19 '12 at 6:40
