I need to access my files faster, if I have some categories like Nature or Nature->Flowers it would be very useful.

I have tried a few apps:

  • ACDSee is good, but I need to catalog the files from a specific folder, not all image files from my PC
  • Zoner Photo Studio has a Album feature where you can drag files (it makes shortcuts, .lnk files), not so good

What OS are you using? – Dave Sep 25 '12 at 13:15
Adobe Lightroom allows you to apply and filter on hierarchical keywords and a range of other methods to organise your photos. Available for Windows and OS X. – Mike Fitzpatrick Sep 25 '12 at 23:04
Google Picasa should do the trick – jet Sep 26 '12 at 11:21
