I know this is a weird question. I’m connected to a hostel network where I can stream media from the other people on the network. I don’t want to see their pictures/videos in Windows Media Player at all; it’s really distracting.

I want to either disable receiving streamed video/pictures (for good) or just permanently uninstall Windows Media Player.

If I remove WMP in the Control Panel, I can just re-install it, but I want to remove it or break it so I won’t be able to use it again.

You mean you can't control yourself to keep from opening it? Or it is opening on it's own? – EBGreen Oct 4 '12 at 20:06
Disable Media Player: ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/2383 - I know this doesn't completely break it, but do you really need to kill it to that degree? – MaQleod Oct 4 '12 at 20:37
> You mean you can't control yourself to keep from opening it?   Apparently they can’t control themselves from reinstalling it either! (Actually, I suspect that they just want to lock down or mess up someone else’s computer.) – Synetech Oct 4 '12 at 22:25
Yeah, this does seem really weird. I think this user needs to explain himself some more. Super User is not a site for creating viruses. I'm sorry if this is not what your trying to do, but it is quite suspicious. – Josiah Oct 5 '12 at 0:13
