I have a dmg file (Calibre 0.9.1) which opens but shows the contents as empty, while previous iterations of the file (Calibre 0.90 and earlier open correctly). I have downloaded various copies of the file from differing mirrors with exactly the same result, yet others report success with the update.

I noticed a strange thing, namely that the problem dmg file had a different icon (a folder but with what appears to be a red 'no entry' type symbol on it), but I was unable to find a reference to the meaning of this icon anywhere. It is worth noting that the functional dmg files open quite a bit quicker than the non-functioning one.

As a first time poster I am not permitted to post images :-(

Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and how I might be able to open this dmg file successfully?

I am running an iMac 27" with OS 10.8.2

what happens when you right click the file and go to "get info" and look at the permissions? What does it say there? – AlanTuring Oct 7 '12 at 22:57
Interestingly enough, Calibre 0.92 works just fine, so it makes me think it must have been something to do with 0.91. – mickblu Oct 11 '12 at 23:37
