I have a package for an IDE in my solaris machine. How do I upgrade this package?

What IDE? Are we talking upgrading from official repositories or unofficial ones? What's the current version? Having a more complete question helps us help you. – Journeyman Geek Oct 11 '12 at 6:27
One way to go is to download the latest version from the internet and 'pkgadd' – Jay Oct 11 '12 at 6:37
Which Solaris version? Solaris 11 has a new package system in which you can just "pkg update", but on Solaris 10 and older you need to find the new package version, download it and pkgadd it. – alanc Oct 12 '12 at 0:46
