Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm looking for a program that will allow me to grab colors from on screen, something that won't bother me or effect performance if it's running constantly in the background.

What this is for: is replacing my need to take a screenshot, put it in photoshop, and grab the hex color that way. I do this about 10 times a day, every day due to the nature of my work.

I know there is a solution out there for me, but I'm not able to find anything even remotely similar to what I'm wanting.

I use PicPick for this sort of thing - it's a great screengrabbing tool that has a nice built in color picker. Very lightweight, it runs in the tray, and you can hotkey the functions you want for ease of use. (They do ask that you pay for a license if you're using it in a commercial capacity, but it's only US$21.99.)
