I don't keep up with hardware much, so would appreciate any tips on what would be a good touch-enabled laptop that I could use for both development and testing of Windows 8 ("Metro"/Store) apps.

Is there even such an animal (a touch-centric laptop)? Or will I need to use a laptop for development (in which case I might be able to upgrade my RC version of Windows 8 on my existing laptop to RTM) and purchase a tablet for testing?

1) Shopping question, see FAQ. 2) Does it need to be a laptop? (Monitor with touchscreen should do for both Desktop and laptop testing and will be more flexible. 3) Upgrade the release candidate? (I think you mean full reinstall, as far as I know you can not update the test release installs). 4) Do you really need the dev. environment and the test environment to be the same machine? – Hennes Oct 15 '12 at 15:38
4) No, but I would prefer it. – Clay Shannon Oct 16 '12 at 0:15
Many laptops have touch screens. The Dell Mobile Precision M4600 has a multi-touch screen. Right now, mine is acting up however. – Nathan DeWitt Oct 16 '12 at 13:02
