I am unable to find the reason behind my laptop's mysterious behavior. My laptop runs fine in my office and other places but when I go to my home laptop starts overheating and the cpu fan runs very fastly, much heat is being produced and the battery life decreasing.AT other places I get 4hours for 100% battery and at my home 50 minutes for 100% battery.Whats the reason?

My guess would be: Using it on different surfaces (desk vs legs/bed) or Doing different things with it. If you're using it for office applications at work and games at home, there's going to be a lot more demand on your graphics card at home, and laptops are generally poor at shedding heat. – jam Oct 17 '12 at 9:01
perhaps your computer is streaming/encoding media for an Xbox at home? in any case, examine the process list in task manager to see which program is working hard at home. – cloneman Oct 17 '12 at 10:29
