I am told that I have corruption issues with my MacBook Pro laptop. Also that I need to have the path way and congestion cleared. What should I do?

By who? "I need to have the path way and congestion cleared" dosen't sound like any computer problem I've heard of before. – Journeyman Geek Oct 20 '12 at 11:58

There is a tool called Spinrite which is by far the best tool I've used for fixing all manner of drive issues.

Not free but it does have an excellent pedigree and I've used it to fix a number of otherwise catastrophic disk failures.

OSX has a built in disk utility (called Disk utility under applications/utilities). Have you tried using it to repair the disk?
