I have a KORG nanoKontrol MIDI controller, which connects to a PC over low-speed USB. It is also powered by the USB port. But this is a general question about low-speed low-power USB devices, not about the nanoKontrol.

Is there something I can buy that will provide battery power and data connectivity wirelessly between a PC and a low-speed low-power USB device?

You will not be able to be battery powered, but you can get it wireless. –  Scott Chamberlain Oct 23 '12 at 5:01

Yes, there are Wireless USB Extenders in the market. Though the price is quite high.
