Is this a known issue or am I the only one? Basically what happens is that I tell it to connect to facebook via the app settings, and it says it has connected but may take a few moments for any changes to show up... But nothing ever shows up. Any ideas?

Never mind, it just started working out of the blue....

I've never faced any such issues. Have you tried restarting your system? It could be an intermittent issue. I've faced few similar minor issues which disappear after system restart. – AbhishekGirish Oct 27 '12 at 1:31

Do you have a 3rd party firewall (usually as part of your 3rd party AntiVirus solution) installed? I found that the older versions of the "Internet Security products" not specifically designed for Windows 8 blocks the Modern UI communications applications. See my related Super User Question here.

When I disable my (AVG) firewall the Modern UI communications applications work, when I enable the firewall again it stops working. (I'm currently waiting for the 2013 version of my 3rd party security product)

No I do't have a third party firewall, this is pretty much a fresh install.... – TheX Oct 27 '12 at 19:06
