Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've recently bought an e-reader and became infatuated with the idea of using "calibre" to convert RSS feeds into ".epub"s. This has obvious flaws, however. For example, I would love to have the "New Yorker" (for example) on my ereader, but the RSS feed from their website makes only very few articles freely available.

This is my 11th year now in academia. As those of you in academia probably know, the university proxy makes a lot of different news sources and journals available to you. But you always have to enter via the university's library website... This means that if I wanted to, I could see all of the articles of the "New Yorker" (again, just an example). My question is: is it possible to subscribe to an RSS feed of a journal that I have access to through the university's proxy (so that I can convert it to an ".epub" and put it on my ereader)? This question has been bothering me for a long time...
