Yes, there are new fonts in Windows 8. There is a blog post detailing the new fonts - Script and Font Support in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Note that some letters of Segoe UI have been redesigned, as shown (source at MSDN): In Windows 7:

I prefer the Windows 8 re-design of Segoe UI. But it seems that there are no new (latin-based) font-faces, just new scripts. Is that right, or am I reading it wrong? – Alix Axel Oct 29 '12 at 9:48 |
