I have a Acer Aspire One AOA 150 with Windows Xp Home. The netbook doesn't hibernate. There's a screen showing hibernation and it never finishes. how can I figure out the issue?

Just to check; you are initiating the hibernate from the start menu, yes? (Start, shutdown, hibernate). Just to rule out any power-setting related problem. Look in Event Viewer. Perhaps there's some information on what's preventing the hibernate there. Did you try deleting/remaking the hiberfil.sys as I suggested? – RJFalconer Oct 3 '09 at 16:11
yes i did that...but still the same problem...is there any "Windows Internals" debugging tools here? – iceman Nov 14 '09 at 12:00

Are you able to hibernate successfully after a clean restart? (Ie no remote files open, no Direct3D screensavers running etc?)

Do you have enough free disk space to hibernate?

You may wish to disable hibernation, restart, then re-enable hibernation. This should recreate the hiberfil.sys hibernation file.

Good luck!

Upgrading your BIOS will fix this.
