iMac Specs:

  • 24" Apple iMac
  • OS X Lion (10.7.5)
  • 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

The normal behavior when pressing the power button while the iMac is running is to put the computer to sleep. Shortly after I upgraded to OS X Lion I found that pressing the power button would lock up the OS completely, forcing me to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds in order to restart the machine.

Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this further and get it to quit freezing? I'm at my wits end.
