I came into possession of 4 mini-ITX (or possible Nano-ITX) boards recently they were used in an old CD preview stand at a music store. They're not very powerful, but they're fast enough to run an embedded Windows XP off a 256MB IDE Flash Drive. I think they have about 256MB of RAM in each.
What I'd like to do with them is have them run a virtual desktop located on my home server, most likely some kind of lightweight Linux OS to play around with.
What are the basic minimums (spec wise) that I may need to get this project off the ground? What kind of VM software should I be looking at? Is this even viable?
