Not much else to ask about this. I'd like something that runs in linux. Any suggestions?

It might be nice to addd that GnuCash reads QIF/OFX/HBCI if migrating from another accounting package. – DaveParillo Oct 4 '09 at 4:30

I should point out that while it's perhaps the only sensible open-source alternative, I personally don't find it to be particularly friendly or polished. It doesn't come with many useful reports, and the ones that are there can be real tricky to get to work with your custom account hierarchy. So, do go for it, but be mentally prepared :) – romkyns Dec 20 '09 at 11:02
GnuCash is a double-entry accounting system. This makes it really heavyweight for personal use (most consumer-level commercial solutions are single-entry). It'll require a little discipline to use. – Broam Apr 6 '10 at 14:58

Have you looked at SQL-ledger:

SQL-Ledger® ERP is a double entry accounting/ERP system. Accounting data is stored in a SQL database server, for the display any text or GUI browser can be used. The entire system is linked through a chart of accounts. Each item in inventory is linked to income, expense, inventory and tax accounts. When items are sold and purchased the accounts are automatically updated.

I use GnuCash for personal use. It has some support for business accounting, but I believe SQL-ledger is more feature-rich in that area.
