Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am trying to setup corporate email on an iPhone, the user can check email while on company's Wi-Fi network but can't do it when they use their 3G network. This is the case with this user only.

Strange thing is that it does prompt the user about accepting the SSL certificate, once we accept it the mail works but the moment we turn off wi-fi and switch to 3G it stops working; we just get a message "Cannot get mail".

I have checked on Exchange console and her profile has Exchange Active Sync enabled. Also when I manage mobile phones I can see her iPhone being paired.

I have removed the device and started over but same problem. Deleted and recreated the email on the iPhone but same issue. I have even reset the iPhone but same issue, finally I tried to setup her email on another iPhone and got the same error. That made it clear that it's an issue with her ID not the phone.

I am looking for a solution not silly comments. Sorry but I have been trying to fix this for a long time now and your comments are not helping. –  Sandeep Pareek Nov 15 '12 at 0:23

That is a solution, we did this exact thing about 2 years ago where I work, haven't looked back... –  TheX Nov 15 '12 at 0:52

Can other phones reach Active Sync from outside? If not, have you confirmed SSL is being forwarded to your Exchange server? Can the user access Exchange when on someone else's WiFi/Internet? –  Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 Nov 15 '12 at 3:52
