I just bought a laptop that runs Windows 8. I am trying to get Java and Quicktime to run. Both are updated to the most recent version but I still get an error message. I have read that you have to install 32 and 64 java for it to run but I can not seem to figure that out. It will only let me over ride the version that is installed. Please help. I need these programs to work for my online classes.

What's your browser? Desktop IE by default will ask if you want to enable any new plugins (including Java). Metro IE won't support any plugin (except Flash for selected websites). Try Firefox/Chrome/Opera/whatever else in browserchoice.eu/BrowserChoice/browserchoice_en.htm – Martheen Cahya Paulo Nov 19 '12 at 3:55
