I have a win7x64 desktop on an 2TB WD HDD and a 64GB Mushkin Chronos drive configured with Intel SRT in enhanced mode. This means I had to install initially with bios setup in raid.

I'm going to clone this using Apricorn's cloning software/hardware to a new 240 SSD I have from previously cloning a HDD on my laptop.

What I don't know is if having the BIOS setup for RAID from the SRT is going to cause a problem when I clone.

I'm thinking the steps I need to follow are:

  1. Disable SRT
  2. Shutdown and remove 60gb SSD.
  3. Power up
  4. Clone HDD to new SSD
  5. Shutdown
  6. Remove HDD
  7. Add only new SSD
  8. Power on and jump to BIOS (edit, this was missing)
  9. Change BIOS back to ahci?
  10. save changes
  11. Cross fingers
  12. Power on

If there are any other concerns I should know about, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
