Windows 7

When I plug in a USB microphone the internal microphone doesn't disable. I have to manually go into the control panel and disable the internal mic to stop it recording sound. I have my USB mic set to default but it still picks the sound up from the internal whilst recording the external.

Is this normal? I have tried it on all 3 of my laptops all running Windows 7 and they all do the same.

This is indeed normal behavior. – Ramhound Nov 26 '12 at 17:42
