My system gave me an NTLDR Missing error. I formatted my system using a Windows XP CD. Afterwards, when booted, I got a blue screen and then the system shutdown automatically. I hooked the hard-drive up to my friend’s computer and formatted it on his machine, then it worked, but I still cannot format the drive with my own motherboard.

What is the problem and how can I resolve it?

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

You need to change your bios settings to boot from cd-rom/dvd-rom drive 1st before hard drive.

A full format is not needed, you just need to to copy across a new NTDLR file into your system, search the microsoft support site or google for the answers you seek.

Search for:

1.) change boot sequence
2.) How to fix NTDLR missing
