I have two PCs and two different USB 3.0 controllers. With the same device and cable, one can only transfer up to 25 MB/sec (i am suspecting this is too slow), and the other can transfer at 180 MB/sec.

I am trying to determine if the device connected to my PC has negotiated USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 speed. Where should I look?

Details: One is an on-board Renesas-based USB 3.0 Hub and the other is a PCIe 2.0 x1 VIA-based USB 3.0 card.

I installed a 2.0.30 Renesas driver instead of 2.1.36 and USB performance returned to expected levels. The question remains, how can I tell that USB 2.0 is negotiated, without running benchmarks. – GregC Dec 10 '12 at 20:19
