I'm working on segmentation of 3D volume images on CUDA, and I want an Nvidia graphics card with Computer Capability over 2.0 and 2 GB of memory. I currently own a 9400 GT with Compute Capability 1.1 and 512 MB.

Most of the graphics cards that meet my desired specs are PCI Express 2.0 or 3.0 (like this and this).

I don't know if I can install them on my motherboard, I ran the lshw command on Ubuntu 12.04 and got these PCI specs. Will I have to change motherboard too?

The 9400 GT is a PCIe 2.0 card. Maybe you should post your motherboard though. –  Louis Dec 16 '12 at 3:49
