Under Cinnamon Settings > Backgrounds, there are a lot of images I would like to move to my windows partition to use as wallpapers. Where exactly are these files located?

I suppose your Linux Mint comes with GNOME and normally, it should be under /usr/share/backgrounds .

You do not need root access to browse those files!! You only need root if you want to change a read only file. – MattSturgeon Feb 22 at 18:58
