Can you outline how you got where you are? It seems like you've already installed the modem and then you're trying also to install a totally different type of modem. – David Schwartz Dec 26 '12 at 4:10
@DavidSchwartz I'm adding a NEW modem (a USB datacard). The steps are the same as you would install any other modem. But for this that COM port list is empty for some reason. How do I make it populate? (It's a brand new window install if it matters, and the modem shown already in the list is working fine, but I don't need it) – Ankit Fadia Dec 26 '12 at 4:41
Ahh, you're adding an additional modem? Did the drivers for it already install? – David Schwartz Dec 26 '12 at 4:50
@DavidSchwartz Yes, the (digitally signed) drivers are installed. – Ankit Fadia Dec 26 '12 at 5:04
What do you see in the Device Manager? – David Schwartz Dec 26 '12 at 5:08
