I have been using bblean for years now but it doesn't work in windows 8 unfortunately. I will soon upgrade my machine to windows 8 and I wanted to know what is the state of shell replacements in it. From what I gathered from google no blackbox derivative works in windows 8, is that right? What about emerge? Is it working well in 8? Any other shell replacements I should know about?

What doesn't the default shell do that it needs replacing? There is a list here if you would like to look at each one further: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alternative_shells_for_Windows –  ta.speot.is Dec 27 '12 at 0:15
